\n\u221a 85 to 90 percent of the people who died of lung cancer or COPD were smokers or former smokers, which means they are preventable deaths
\n\u221a That means about 250,000 deaths could have been avoided
\n\u221a 250,000 is about the population of Lincoln, Neb. or Madison, Wis.
